'Chris' positivity and energy is outstanding. It's an inspiring, refreshing, exhilarating weekend that rekindled the original spark and reminded me that all the sacrifices I made to become a filmmaker were worth it because indeed I never feel more alive than on a film set'
Stephanie Joalland, writer/director/producer www.frenzyfilms.com

So look... some promises...

Guerilla Filmmaking isn't for everyone.

It's tough. By definition it requires massive commitment, inspired problem solving and extraordinary leadership. Making a guerilla feature film will change you forever. It will change the relationships with everyone in your life too. It's not to be undertaken lightly.

On the flipside.

The alternative is really waiting for people to say yes to you. And if you are here, likelihood is you have been asking and waiting and asking and waiting and... Yargh! The madness of someone else being in control of your destiny is debilitating.

And so I invite you. With extreme caution. Come seize back control of your destiny. Lead from the front. And make the god damned movie you WANT to make.

To be clear, I made my first feature film BECAUSE I was exhausted at hearing the word 'No', the phrase 'it can't be done' and by people writing me off as too young and inexperienced.

That was at the start of my career and frankly, I have never looked back.

Since then I have made more feature films, co-ordinated crowd created feature films, exec and associate produced features, made countless shorts, some for passion, others for money, advised on lord only knows how many films, I even got into the race for an Oscar and got tantilisingly close.

So I have been at the coal face, and I am still there. Chipping away just like you.

‘It’s not just the information that makes this Masterclass so valuable, it’s the community that forms around you over the weekend that makes it NECESSARY! We found a first AD, got 60 new Twitter followers and even received more financing for our film over the weekend’
Justin Tagg, Writer / Director

Add to that, over the course of writing six Guerilla Filmmakers Handbooks, I have interviewed hundreds of filmmakers about their films, careers, mistakes and successes. And patterns, or templates for success, begin to emerge. Patterns we can ALL use.

This is the smart application of other peoples experience. Learn from their costly successes and failures.

So are you ready for literally a thousand tips, tricks, strategies and tactics for filmmaking and career success?

Are your prepared to meet hundreds of potential collaborators over two days?

That's what this masterclass delivers.

‘Thank you, thank you, thank you. It was an OUTSTANDING two days. Unforgettable. I'm sure any resurgence in the ailing British film industry will be largely down to you and your delightful team for giving us all the kick up the ass we need. Feel so privileged to have attended. Pandora's box has opened! (In a good way!)’
Charlotte Essex, Screenwriter and Filmmaker

Where is the money to make my film?

If there is one question I get asked over and over, it’s ‘where can I get funding?’ Honestly? There is no pot of money out there. And if there were a pot of money, no-one would tell you about it.

The truth is you are probably not going to get ‘funding’.

There I have said it. I strongly believe that we need to be the creators of our destiny by leveraging what we have, what we can get, and most magically, what shows up WHEN we commit and begin the journey. This isn't some mystical energy, it's simply what happens when people lead with passion, street smarts, integrity and a vision worth following.

This is the same ‘right stuff’ that the Apollo astronauts talked about when they went to the moon. That's BECAUSE it's your vision, your passion, YOUR FILM.

You need the 'right stuff' so that you can tackle the mountain of problems that you will face on your journey. And if you don’t have it, film making probably isn’t for you.

And it's that same 'right stuff' that, in my experience, attracts investors, incredible crews, named actors, resources and 'the magic' to your project also.

And here is the good news.

And it’s REALLY good news!

You have already got more than you need to make your film. And more than that, enough to make an EXTRAORDINARY film.

  • You have a great idea.
  • You have the will to make it happen.
  • You have the vision to tell your story in a fresh way.
  • And you have the ‘right stuff’.

Right Tool For The Right Job

So now, all you are really missing are the details so you that can make the right choices, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, as you move through your project. Because at the end of the day, filmmaking is simply a series of tough decisions, backed up by your creative talent.

By focusing on what you have, instead of what you don’t have, you can actually get your film made now. Not one day, not some day…those roads lead nowhere.

By making your film with what you have and can get, you can maintain creative control and make the movie you WANT to make.

And here’s the amazing thing. Once you commit to that journey, money and resources seem to attract themselves to you, kind of magnetically. THE POT OF MONEY STARTS TO FIND YOU! To outsiders, this looks like some kind of magic, or they may say 'wow, you were lucky!'. Luck has NOTHING to do with it.

I know this sounds counter intuitive, but I have experienced it personally on the features and the Oscar shortlisted film I made.

I have also heard it said repeatedly, from the hundreds of film makers that I have interviewed in The Guerilla Film Makers Handbooks.

Take the first big, bold steps and the rest will follow.

'After producing a string of award-winning short-films... and frustrated at not being able to move to the next stage with our concepts, we were feeling spent and disillusioned. Then we met Chris Jones at his Guerrilla Filmmakers workshop... Wow, man he put the steel back into our rod!
